Juanita football off to a strong start
When a team has a lot of new faces there is always the worry that, as a group, they won't all mesh together into a cohesive unit.
Heading into the season, Shaun Tarantola was cautiously football jersey
optimistic his Juanita football players would bond quickly. He didn't expect it to happen this quickly.
"I think the chemistry is very solid. I think our kids all get a long," Shaun Tarantola said. "They all love being around each other. Our chemistry is better than it’s ever been, I believe."
Tarantola also likes the depth on his roster. It's created a competition in practice for playing time, a situation that has made his team better as a whole.
The Rebels looked good in Week 1, beating Redmond, 41-7. Jerimiah Laufasa rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns.
"I think the key for him last Friday was really Minnesota Vikings jersey
hitting the hole hard and trusting his teammates that they’re going to get their job done and the opening is going to be where we planned, where we expect it to be," Tarantola said. "He really relied on his blocking to get through that first line of defense and then, once he got through, he just continued to run hard."
Rebels standout Jarett Finau, a UW recruit, had a conflict last week that caused him to miss a day of practice, so he didn't play as much in the opener as he will typically.
"He’s doing a really good job," Tarantola said. "He has a motor."
One week in Juanita is happy with its Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
progress. But there's still work to do.
"We’re healthy first off and that’s a key for us, it always is," Tarantola said.. "We were happy to get a win last week, but we feel like we can get a lot better than how we played. We’ve got a lot of work to do, but we feel good about where we’re at right now."
